The story of Janz-GmbH begins in the 1990s, when Uwe Janz, a master gunsmith and precision engineer, found himself at a crossroads. Having supplied high-quality parts to Korth, Germany’s most prestigious revolver maker, Janz faced a turning point after Korth’s bankruptcy left him with a surplus of parts and a wealth of expertise. Rather than let this legacy fade, Uwe Janz assembled a team of artisans, including Rene Ganz, the last apprentice of Willi Korth, to create a new standard in revolver manufacturing. In 1997, Janz-Präzisionstechnik GmbH was born, with a vision to surpass the legendary quality of Korth while introducing new levels of modularity and customization. The first Janz revolvers debuted in 1998, quickly earning acclaim for their flawless engineering and innovative quick-change caliber system. Overcoming the challenges of entering a niche, high-end market, Janz focused on limited production, bespoke finishes, and uncompromising quality. Major milestones include the launch of the EM-S multi-caliber system and the expansion into international markets.
