RPC Fort’s story began in the early 1990s, as Ukraine sought to establish its own defense industry following independence. Tasked with equipping the nation’s Interior Ministry and security services, the company set up its manufacturing base in Vinnytsia and quickly developed the Fort-12 pistol, which became a standard sidearm for Ukrainian police and military. Overcoming the challenges of post-Soviet transition, limited resources, and the need for rapid modernization, RPC Fort invested in advanced machinery and design expertise, often collaborating with international partners. A major milestone was the 2008 agreement with Israel Weapon Industries, allowing Fort to license-produce the Tavor rifle, Negev machine gun, and Galatz sniper rifle, significantly elevating its technological capabilities. Despite the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, RPC Fort has continued to innovate, introducing new models like the Fort-230 submachine gun and modernizing legacy AK rifles with advanced accessories. The company’s vision is to remain at the forefront of Ukraine’s defense sector, providing reliable arms for national security and supporting the country’s resilience on the global stage.
